The latest guest on my podcast, Bleeding Daylight, has already accomplished so much but he is forever searching for more. He has just released a book titled Searching for Seven: The Journey of Seeking God Seven Days a Week.

Tyler D. Smith is a pastor, NBA sports writer, basketball coach, and author. He’s also worked in the Christian music industry. He graduated from Lincoln Christian University and has served in ministry since 2005. He lives in Indiana with his wife, Katelyn and their two daughters, Addi and Ellie.

It was a pleasure to have him join me on Bleeding Daylight.

Dave Ebert – Tears of a Clown

It’s almost a cliche, the comedian who is secretly battling depression, the person who makes everyone else laugh, but who is fighting their own inner struggles. Dave Ebert has a passion for comedy, but the laughs haven’t always been easy for him. He has faced a very real battle with depression and suicidal thoughts.

Dave is someone who has turned comedy from something that masked his own pain, into something that brings healing for others, including women released from sex trafficking.

In the latest episode of Bleeding Daylight we get to explore a little of the inner conflicts that Dave has faced over the years and the way that life is now so very different for him.

Ross Clifford – Evidence for Faith

Can a lawyer who is trained to rely on evidence still believe in the God of the Bible? Is faith more about feelings than facts? That’s what I’m exploring on the latest episode of my podcast, Bleeding Daylight.

Rev. Dr. Ross Clifford AM is a former lawyer, a theologian, political commentator, pastor, radio personality, and so much more. He has authored or co-authored over a dozen books. In June, 2010, he was made a member of the Order of Australia.

Back when I was working in radio I used to chat with Ross each week about faith and spirituality. It was really good to be able to catch up with him again and go a bit deeper on whether the Christian faith could stand up in a court of law. Is there any trustworthy evidence to back up what Christians believe?

Liz Vice – Let Justice Roll

Some years ago, I discovered an album that quickly became a favourite of mine. I then started raving about my discovery to friends who began buying their own copies.

That album was, There’s a Light released back in 2012 by Liz Vice. The album was re-released in 2015. It climbed to number six on Billboard’s Top Gospel albums and 13 on the R&B chart.

Here’s one of the tracks from that first album.

Liz Vice has released another album since then, the amazing Save Me, and a few single releases. All of them display Liz’s soulful vocals, bringing to life some truly wonderful gospel lyrics.

Liz Vice is a reluctant gospel singer who yearns to see gospel justice fall across the earth. Her current single See the Day is a longing for that justice.

Richmond Wandera – Power over Poverty

When he was just eight years of age his father was murdered in front of his mother. That moment forced Richmond, his mother, and his siblings out of their home and into one of the world’s largest slums. Life had changed in an instant.

Back in February, in what now seems to be a whole different world, I had the honour of spending some time with Richmond Wandera during his short visit to Perth. His life was changed by a tragic event. His life was changed again when he was sponsored by a fifteen-year-old girl through Compassion.

During the many years I worked in radio I had the opportunity to meet a lot of inspirational people. I don’t think any of them were more inspirational than Richmond. He is a powerful storyteller and he has a very powerful story to tell. He has suffered malaria more than ten times, experienced extreme poverty, scavenged for food and seen things a child should never have to see.

Life now is very different. Richmond is a pastor and the founder of the Pastors’ Discipleship Network in several African countries.

The amazing thing is that while Richmond always carried that potential if it were not for the decision made by a fifteen-year-old girl to sponsor him, his life would look very different today.
