I’m Shouting Coffee

coffee.jpgThey say there’s no such thing as a free lunch but there is a free morning tea.

My apologies to those who don’t live close enough to Perth to take advantage of this but my morning radio programme on 98.5 Sonshine FM will be even tastier during our annual Radiothon next week.

I’m inviting a group of people each day to join me and my morning programme guests for morning tea from Monday the 16th to Friday the 20th of August.

The morning teas will run from 10:00 a.m. to around 11:30 a.m. and should be a lot of fun. It’d be great to catch up and it’s a wonderful opportunity for me to show off my workplace in Como.

We’ve done a similar thing over the last couple of years and had such a wonderful time. The food is always outstanding and the Five Senses coffee is spectacular. On top of that it’s a lot of fun meeting a variety of listeners and letting people see how radio works.

If you’d like to be part of the fun simply click here to email me at my work email address and tell me which day you can join me. If you’re one of the first 20 replies for each day you’ll enjoy a delicious, free morning tea at our Como studios thanks to Five Senses Coffee and 98.5 Sonshine FM.

Why not get a group together and email me the details. I’d love to say hello.

Radio Station Tours

radio.jpgEver wanted to see what really happens at a radio station?

98.5 Sonshine FM’s Radiothon – ‘Growing our Family’ – begins from midday this Sunday with an invitation to drop in and have a behind the scenes look at radio.

Between midday and 4:00 p.m. you can have a look around our new Broadcast and CareLine complex in Como. You’ll find the studios in Murray Street, Como, just past McNabb Loop. There are more details at the Sonshine FM website.

If it’s too far to travel to join us in person you can listen in with your FM radio or online. If you’re in the Perth area I hope you’ll come in and say hello this Sunday afternoon as kick off Radiothon for 2009.

Radiothon 2008

SFM_Logo.jpgI’m not sure how much posting I’ll be doing over the next week as I’ll be pretty busy with this year’s Sonshine FM Radiothon.

Radiothon will be 6 Days focussed on providing the final funds needed to get us over the line and into our new building. It begins today and will finish this Friday, the 1st of August.

On January the 26th 2009 98.5 Sonshine FM be celebrating its 21st birthday with the official opening the brand new broadcast complex in Como, a complex that’ll be more cost efficient and much better suited to current and future needs.

The new facility will benefit from lower overheads, bringing greater financial security for Sonshine FM’s future.

Unfortunately, some promised funding for the building didn’t eventuate, so we’re now looking to raise the shortfall in funds to move in debt free through Radiothon 2008. Our target is $250 000.

Last year, we were aiming to raise $250,000 but our listeners and supporters overwhelmed us by giving $298,000! We’re excited about what surprises this year’s Radiothon will bring.

Visit the Sonshine FM website for more details.

Radiothon starts at midday today with a four hour outside broadcast at the partially completed building in Murray Street Como.
