What Were They Thinking?

The eighties was a strange era.

I dragged the CD “Sheep in Wolves Clothing” by Mylon LeFevre & Brokenheart out of the CD rack today. It’s pretty dusty from not being played a lot.

The music is OK, but what were they thinking when they got dressed for the photo shoot? And that hair?

The album was released around 1985 – and doesn’t it show.

Almost an Hour and a Half

Wow. The line is now fixed. I’ve been online for around one and a half hours without being dumped.

Mr Telstra Technician came today while I was at work and found a cut line about a hundred metres up the road. Apparently the wires were barely touching. Pauline let hime come in and test the lines. He put in some new cable from the junction box up the road to our house and into the roof.

Now we can talk to people on the phone without asking them to repeat what they said over the crackle. Now I can get on with blogging my journey. Brilliant.

Missing in Action

Yes I know – I’ve been missing in action for a while. Apologies.

I have a fault on my telephone line at home (which Telstra says is absolutely fine) and it is preventing me from maintaining an internet connection for more than a few minutes.

I’m told that even thought their testing shows that the line is OK, they will send someone around within a couple of days. When they do I will ask them to pick up the phone and try to hear anyone talking to them above the extremely loud crackling.

This short explanation is being blogged from work. Obviously I don’t want to make a habit of blogging at work so I hope to get things back to normal very soon.

Why Don't We Do This More Often?

We had David and his family over for a BBQ and swim last night.

We love spending time with his tribe and there’s always so much to catch up about. Time seems to rush by between visits and it’s usually months between get togethers. Why do we get so caught up in the day to day that we miss spending time with friends?

We seem to swap ‘the stuff of life’ with the endless struggle to exist. Relationships are so very important and yet we often let trivialities get in the way of maintaining them.

Thankfully we’ll be catching up again in a couple of weeks.
