On the Other Side

radiothon-2016

For many years I worked in radio at 98five. For the last three years I’ve been working for Compassion Australia.

Last week I was on the other side of the broadcast desk. After conducting hundreds of interviews during my time in radio, I was instead the one being interviewed when I dropped in to take part in 98five’s annual Radiothon. I was a guest during the breakfast program with Kirste and Morro.

Remembering Radiothon 2012

We finished 98five Sonshine FM’s Radiothon yesterday with a total of $169 519. Even though Radiothon is officially over for 2012, we believe the total will rise a little in the coming days.

While we didn’t reach our target of $175 000, our supporters gave everything they could to achieve over 95% of our goal. We were humbled by the continued generosity of our supporters towards securing our financial future.

If you’d still like to give you can give online, or call the 98five Sonshine FM office during the week on 9313 0800.

In the mean time, check out a selection of photos of a handful of the people I spoke to during the past week and click on any photos you’d like to see a little bigger.

Let me shout you a coffee

coffee.jpgThey say there’s no such thing as a free lunch but there is a free morning tea.

My apologies if you don’t live close enough to Perth to take advantage of this but my Morning CafĂ© radio program on 98five Sonshine FM is even tastier during our annual Radiothon this week.

I’m inviting people to join me and my Morning Cafe guests for morning tea each day and there’s still space for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The morning teas run from 10:00 a.m. to around 11:30 a.m. and are always a lot of fun. It’d be great to catch up and it’s a wonderful opportunity for me to show off my workplace in Como.

We’ve done a similar thing over the last few years and had such a wonderful time. The food from Miss Maud is always outstanding and the coffee is spectacular. On top of that it’s a lot of fun meeting a variety of listeners and letting people see how radio works.

If you’d like to be part of the fun simply click here to email me at my work email address and tell me which day you can join me then enjoy a delicious, free morning tea at the Como studios of 98.5 Sonshine FM.

Why not get a group together and email me the details. I’d love to say hello.
