I Need a Break to Get Over the Easter Break

It’s been a very busy Easter for our family.

On Friday I joined a group of cyclists who were part of the Perth to Hobart ride last year. We also had a few ‘support crew’ following in a bus and a couple of new faces on bikes. We cycled to Moora, a country town north of Perth. The ride was around 145 km for most. I cycled around 20 km to the starting point so ended up doing just under 165 km.

Pauline and the kids drove to Moora to pick me up.

From there we drove straight to Moore River. My 3 brothers and 1 sister were there with their families. We stayed in a holiday home overlooking the mouth of the river and the ocean. It was our first family holiday together since we were kids. Our last holiday would have been around 30 years ago with our parents. Now our parents are gone and most of us are parents. It was great seeing our kids playing together.

We left on Sunday afternoon to come home, leaving most of the family back at Moore River. Our little family returned early to go to Pauline’s parents’ place to celebrate Easter and for Pauline’s mum’s birthday.

Now it’s Monday. The last day of the Easter long weekend. I was going to cycle to Fremantle for coffee but I was a couple of minutes late and missed joining the bunch that was riding down there.

I’m sure it’ll be another busy day. Later this afternoon I’ll be getting together for prayer with the 3 other guys that make up our accountability group.
