I'm (almost) on my way!

The news is finally out.

From Monday next week (23rd August) I will take over as the host of the morning programme on 98 five Sonshine FM.

I didn’t want to say too much any earlier because the current announcer, Sheridan Voysey, didn’t announce his departure on-air until this morning.

Sheridan has crafted a wonderful radio programme from 9 until midday, Monday to Friday (Perth time) and it’ll be a real pleasure to continue his great work.

If you’re in the Perth area you can listen in to 98.5 on the FM frequency. If not, go to Sonshine FM’s website and click on the main logo to listen via the internet.

I will miss my job as Bike for Bibles Coordinator and if it were humanly possible I’d continue with both jobs. Thankfully I’ll remain involved with Bike for Bibles and the Bible Society as and when I can.

  • Congratulations – I will listen in ehen I can. Hey, I used to listen to Sonshine FM in secret (as well as sneak off to Kenny Marks concerts by myself) when I was growing up and looking for answers (in the days you would only let your mates think you listened to 96 FM)…keep up the great work (there probably heaps of closet pre-christian listeners out there right now) 🙂

  • Rodney, that is so awesome! As one morning radio person to another, I’m happy for you. I visited your station website and noticed that your morning show runs from nine to noon. Lucky you…morning radio here starts at 6 AM or even earlier, so I’m here at the station by 5 AM. I would love to know more about Aussie radio, specifically Aussie Christian radio. BTW, here’s the site of the station where I work:

check it out when you get a moment.

  • Hi Rodney. Congratulations. This sounds like a great opportunity for you. Will you still be able to commute by bike?

  • G’day David.

I’ll still be able to commute by bike but the problem is it’s only half the distance.

I’ll have to discipline myself to do some extra kilometres either before or after work. 🙂
