Church Together Revisited

Despite my throat not wanting to play the game, I did manage to get along to Church Together last night. I joined Sonshine FM Breakfast Announcer, Arthur Muhl, for a couple of hours of our live broadcast leading into the event itself.

It was a wonderful evening at the Burswood Dome. I haven’t heard any official figures as yet but I would say that there was well over ten thousand people drawn from hundreds of churches from across Perth and beyond.

Sonshine FM Announcers John Donoghue and Derek Whitaker took to the microphones earlier in the afternoon and interviewed members of the Parachute Band live on-air.

When Arthur and I were on-air we spoke to Chairman of the Church Together Steering Committee, Phil Baker and we managed to chat to Marina Prior for a matter of minutes immediately before we crossed to the live broadcast of Church Together from 7:00pm. As well as having many thousands in the auditorium we had many thousands listening on-air as well as many more taking the opportunity to listen via the web.

As well as being there for the event itself, it was great to catch up with a few people that I hadn’t seen for some time, including an old school mate, Mark Schneider. We went through primary and high school together about a hundred years ago. It was good to catch up.

It was also good to meet Saint Gaz who I’d previously only met through his blog. We didn’t have long to chat but it was good to put a face to a name.
