I’m finally back in the land of cyberspace.
We made it to Chandigarh yesterday afternoon after an amzing 4 day trip. We stayed at Sonepat, Karnal and Ambala along the way. I’ve got so much to post that I hardly know where to start. I suppose this will have to be a quick post because I’m squeezing it in between our ride today and our official function and press conference tonight. Today’s riding was about 35 km around the city of Chandigarh.
Over the last few days we’ve been interviewed for lots of TV and press media. I’ve only seen one of the newspaper articles but I’ve been told that a lot of newspapers have carried the story.
We’ve stayed in a boys’ boarding school, a hotel and a hospital. We’re now at the YMCA in Chandigarh.
One of the most amazing things about riding in yesterday was seeing the Himalayas in the distance. I think we’re going to be driving up a mountain in the next couple of days before taking the train back to Delhi.
Chandigarh is such a beautiful city. It doesn’t have the rush and business that Delhi has. It’s a lot newer and cleaner but there is still an adventure around every corner. We had a few dozen locals join us today for the ride around the city and we got the first rain of our journey. It wasn’t heavy but it was constant for a while so we got reasonable wet. It didn’t help my cold. I picked up a cold a few days back and it’s in full swing right now. I’m still coping quite well and have completed all my cycling and official duties.
I think we’ll get a bit of time off tomorrow which means that I can post some more about the journey. I still can’t post photos but I’ll have to look through the snaps I’ve taken to jog my memory about everything.
From our official send off from Delhi by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, to our arrival here yesterday, we have seen, tasted and experienced so much.
Thank you again for those who have emailed. Please keep the emails coming.
More tomorrow. I’m off to find a good curry.

Sounds like you’re having an amazing time, Rodney! I look forward to seeing some pics. Take care and God bless!
Great to hear from you again Rodney. Sorry to hear about the cold, but glad to hear you can still enjoy a good curry. I also feel a bit sorry for poor Sheila, the chief minister, a very unfortunate name.
