Clocky

Do you have trouble waking up in the morning? Are you way too tempted to keep pushing the snooze button or even just turning your alarm clock off?

Gauri Nanda may have the answer for you. She’s a Research Associate who has created the Clocky.

In her own words, Gauri says, When the alarm clock goes off and the snooze button is pressed, Clocky will roll off the bedside table and wheel away, bumping mindlessly into objects on the floor until it eventually finds a spot to rest. Minutes later, when the alarm sounds again, the sleeper must get up out of bed and search for Clocky.

Apparently clocky will find a new place to hide each morning.

It’s a great idea and I hope that it goes beyond research to being a marketable product. It has wonderful potential.

Mind you, I wonder if I would get too frustrated with clocky. After scrambling around on the floor trying to find clocky each morning I might be tempted to introduce clocky to another marvellous invention, the hammer.

  • That sounds like it would be the perfect gift for those unique people who you would like to punish or see suffer just a little bit. *gasp* Did I just say that out loud? Ooops. 😀

  • You’re right Monica.

It would be especially interesting to give it as a gift to ‘friends’ without telling them about its special feature.

It would certainly wake people up if their alarm clock suddenly jumped off their bedside table without warning.
