I see that in England, the Royal Mail has sealed up a post box after a family of starlings made their home there.
Mail officials have asked people not to post letters in the pillar box in Essex until the birds leave. They’ve nested in the pillar box near the sea front several times in recent years and are expected to leave within the next few weeks.
The starlings seem to be onto a good thing. It’s certainly given me a great idea for an English family holiday. All I need to do is come up with the airfares.
Obviously our family of four won’t fit into a post box, but if the Royal Mail is so accommodating, once we get to England we’ll take up residence in a post office. We’ll just ask mail officials to suspend normal business at the post office until we’ve had a few weeks holiday.
