Beware the were-rabbit

Are you a fan of pumpkin? I would have to admit that I’d rather not have pumpkin on my plate, but I do enjoy a good drop of pumpkin soup, especially with a dollop of sour cream.

There might be a few servings of pumpkin soup available soon in California where a giant pumpkin weighing more than half a tonne has snatched top place in a world championship competition of giant vegetables.

A retired firefighter from the US state of Washington won the World Championship Pumpkin Weigh Off for the second year running with his huge 557.47 kg entry. The pumpkin measured 3.9 metres in circumference and earned him around $8,000 in prize money.

Reminds me a little of the vegetable competition in the latest Wallace and Gromit movie. I just hope there are no were-rabbits in the area.
