The pit

It was very big. It was rather impressive. It was an exceptionally large hole in the ground.

While we were visiting Greenbushes on Saturday, we took a few minutes out to visit the mine lookout. It looks over the massive mine pit. Way down the pit was a small looking gap where trucks were driving in and out as they made their way underground.

It was wonderful to see something of that magnitude and it would have been interesting to explore it a little further if we had the time. Mind you, it would never be something that would interest me enough to want to work in that industry.

I know people who are passionate about mining. I know people who are passionate about all kinds of jobs, hobbies and interests that leave me absolutely cold. I know lots of people that would freeze if they were sat in front of a microphone but it’s something that I love doing every day.

Isn’t it fascinating the way that we’re all wired so differently?

I could give you a long list of jobs that I would never even entertain the idea of taking on but there are people who just live for those professions.

I get the idea that God knew what he was doing when he put us together. Life would be pretty boring if we were all the same wouldn’t it?

  • I agree Rodney! That’s why I enjoy getting involved in cross-cultural interactions and ministry so much, as I can learn heaps from people of different backgrounds, yet we can have unity in diversity in Christ.

  • diversity can be a blessing … it’s all around us … the flowers, trees, our language … yet all can glorify God … 🙂

    blessings on your mid-week!
