There was a wonderful photo on the front of yesterday’s West Australian newspaper. Bruce and Lyn Piper, farmers from Bindi Bindi in the heart of Western Australia, were leaping into the air, celebrating the rain that fell on Monday. As I’ve mentioned a few times previously, we have been desperately waiting for rain across our state. This article gives a bit more information on the showers that put a smile on many faces.
Great to know that rain is starting to reach farmers in WA. It’s come a little late for some but it’s going to make a big difference for others. I reckon that farming is one of the toughest lifestyles possible. You can work incredibly hard and do everything right but you’re still very much at the mercy of elements that you can’t control.
For those of us in the city, rain can sometimes be a little inconvenient but it really is so vital for the wellbeing of everyone.
I don’t mind cycling in the rain but I prefer dry conditions. Of course I realise that there’s a lot more at stake than the convenience of one middle aged cyclist. I’ll be continuing to pray that we see a lot more pouring down in the coming days.

Yep, I second that.
I grew up on a farm, and it is indeed one of the hardest things you can ever do in life.
I get a little annoyed at peoples attuitude towards the rain. It’s either too little too late, or too much. Why can’t we just be thankful for what we get, however much it is. As a delivery driver, I have to work in the weather, I don’t mind working in the rain because I know we need it.
