As I mentioned last week, Saturday was McHappy Day at McDonalds stores across Australia.
It’s an annual event that raises funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities to help seriously ill children live happier, healthier lives. I spent some time helping out at Midland McDonalds.
Regular Wednesday morning guest from my radio programme on 98.5 Sonshine FM, Louise Kelman, joined me for a fun time talking to customers and serving at the McCafe. (That’s us in the photo.)
I’m not sure what Lou was putting in some of those coffees but I don’t think she was necessarily following instructions. Thankfully all the customers enjoyed Lou’s humour and the little extras she was adding to their beverages.
We were joined in the McCafe by Theo Kalogeracos of Little Caesar’s family pizzeria in Mundaring. Theo has won an amazing array of awards for his skills, both in Australia and overseas. I must make a date to go and try some of his pizza.

Hmmmmm … another item on my Perth list will be Little Caesars pizzeria then 🙂
Aw… I´m hungry now! And have only boring bread with me.
Littel Caesars is good! I just had some over this past weekend. Dessert pizzas… yummy!
What’s a McCafe? Did you just make that up or are we Americans missing out on something trendy here?
You don’t have McCafes? You certainly are missing out.
Many McDonalds here are making big changes to include a separate cafe section and provide a decor that’s a little bit more upmarket to attract the adult market back to the store.
I’ve been jipped!
