Ever wanted to shoot your family?

Is the urge even stronger around this time of year?

With the incredibly fast pace of life these days, many families find that the only time they’re all, or mostly, together is around the Christmas table. That makes Christmas time the perfect opportunity to update your family photo. But how do you manage to shoot photos that will look good enough to frame and display on a shelf or a wall?

Every so often I get to catch up with Nathan Archer, who as well as being a very fine photographer, is a great guy.

We caught up on Thursday and chatted on the radio about everything from choosing a digital camera to making this year’s family snap look a little more professional. We also took a couple of listeners’ questions regarding photos.

If you’d like a few photography hints, just click here and listen to our discussion.

  • I thought NA was very good. WAY too often I disagree with ‘experts’ on the radio, who really only seem expert at promoting themselves rather than their supposed field, but Nathan was excellent.

  • I was just trying to shoot my cat! My camera is all messed up and I don’t know how to get it back to normal! I am hoping to find help online.

  • Surely there are more humane ways to say goodbye to your cat Barbara? 🙂

I heard that Rodney, it was very interesting, and I think that picture you have on you blog is of a camera very similar to mine,
    Fuji Finepix s5000
    10x optical zoom
