Get back to work

So good to be back at work and getting into the swing of things again.

I started work again today after a very relaxing three weeks holiday. Holidays are an interesting dilema when you enjoy your work so much. I thoroughly enjoy my time off and would be happy to have another few weeks to spend with my family but on the other hand I love my job so it’s not so bad to finish my annual leave and get back into work.

As you’d probably know if you’re a regular reader of this blog, we had a family holiday at Rottnest for the middle week of my three weeks of leave. It was incredibly relaxing and I thoroughly enjoyed the extra time with Pauline, Emily and James.

During the rest of the time off I spent some time at home, caught up with Pauline’s visiting uncle, one of my nephews got married, I picked up a dose of the flu which is almost gone, read a bit, spent some time playing with computers and did a few other bits and pieces. When I come to think of it I achieved a fair bit.

My voice is sounding a tad scratching on the radio today as I fight off the remains of the flu but things are going pretty well. It was nice to get back on the bike for the ride here this morning even if it is currently pretty cold at that time of the day.

What are you like at the end of holidays? Are you keen to get back to work or do you have to drag yourself kicking and screaming?

  • I don’t like going back to work at all, although I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that I’m not in a job that I really like or am passionate about at the moment.

I have to keep searching for that great job!

  • My 2 week school hols are starting this weekend, and looking forward to it, as I will have more time to do things at a leisurely pace. That said, I do look forward to getting back to work…if nothing else, waiting for my next paycheck is motivation enough!

  • I, like you, love my job, so have no trouble coming back to work. I sure do love taking time off to spend with my family though.

Sounds like you had a great time. Sorry you you ended up getting a little sick.

    Welcome back!

  • It’s horrible going back to work after holidays. I don’t mind my job but it’s lovely to relax and sleep in a bit.
