Can you remember what you were doing this day eleven years ago?
As long as I’ve known Pauline I’ve been totally in awe of her but on the 12th of June 1996 I was even more amazed at the woman that I had married three and a half years previously.
After a long labour, and without any drugs whatsoever, Pauline brought Emily into the world.
Tonight Emily will blow out eleven candles. Last year on Emily’s tenth birthday I wrote that she’s gone from being the cute little girl with a head full of curls to become a confident young lady that is well liked and a pleasure to be around.
I’m so proud that Emily is my daughter. Every day I see her become more and more like her beautiful mother while at the same time becoming more and more uniquely Emily. She’s a work in progress and I’m extremely privileged to see her continue to become the young woman that God designed her to be.

Happy Birthday Emily!
A labour with no drugs?!? I don’t think I could ever do that! Bring on the drugs!
You needed a tissue warning at the front of this post, it made me cry. Its a blessing to hear a man talk about his family like you talk about yours. Happiest birthday to sweet Emily!
Happy Birthday, Emily! And congratulations, Dad!
Our youngest graduated High School this past weekend. At the risk of being cliche’, where does the time go?
Blessings to you and you family!
Happy Birthday to Emily!
And I’ve seen her in real life once, she is truly beautiful. Happy Birthday Emily!
Congratulations from the Netherlands, Emily!
