Over for another year

Christmas has come and gone.

It was a great day, though I’m glad that we were in air conditioning all day. The forecast high temperature in Perth was 39 degrees but it reached a maximum of 40.7 just after 4:00 p.m. (105.26 degrees Fahrenheit). Today the people at the weather bureau say that it’ll get even hotter.

Today is Boxing Day, a wonderful opportunity to lie around on the couch recovering from all the celebrations yesterday. Well, it would be if I wasn’t at work this morning but I do intend getting in some couch time this afternoon.

How was your Christmas Day? Did you have the opportunity to spend time with family and friends? We had a wonderful time having lunch with my side of the family and then dinner with Pauline’s family. I certainly ate a lot of good food but I managed to avoid that – “Oh my goodness I ate too much and now I feel sick” – kind of feeling. I paced myself and enjoyed some scrumptious treats without overdoing it. Mind you, I don’t really feel all that hungry today.

  • Hey Rodney…. 100 degrees at Christmas…. That just seems wierd….

I have always hoped for a white Christmas in our part of Texas….That just doesn’t happen….But at least it is cold, or as it is this year…cool….I could ride my Honda without wearing leathers….

I hope you have an incredible 2008…..

  • WordPress is hungry, I guess, it just ate up my comment! I guess… Maybe it just got a shock from the words coming through the wire from such a crisp, cold place… At my Mom´s place we even had a bit of snow.
The Fondue for dinner on the 24th was good, supper on the 25th was just the very best roasted goose (again)! And yep, I had too much of it (but missed out on it last year ;-)…)

  • Moderation in all things- good for you {{Rodney}}.
We didn’t eat too much, though all was quite good ( this coming from the cook;) BUT we did spend too much, making everyone happy. Kids and tech gadgets are just not the old fashioned Christmas combination. This year everyone was happy, which made it an excellent holiday.

We managed to circle around the Lord more, and that had to help the level of happiness. But, boy, is it an effort! Always seems like it shouldn’t be such a struggle to put Christ at the center….

  • Glad you had a lovely Christmas with family and friends and without over indulging! I paced myself as well this year, but it`s been so cold and stormy here in Cornwall (the complete oppcsite of course to yourselves out there) I havn`t had the chance to get out on my bike yet.
