Here I am in Miami. We’re staying here tonight before flying to Haiti tomorrow.
It’s been the longest day of my life. I think all up that Sunday the 6th of April will run for 37 hours for me this year. I’m not good at sleeping on planes and so I think I’ve been awake for most of it.
There’s lots to say about the journey so far and meeting up with the rest of the team. Unfortunately I’m using a very small keyboard and so I can’t write too much.
It’s around 10 o’clock on Sunday night here and there’s a big electrical storm outside the hotel. The news is on the wide screen in our room and they say that the storms will continue and will be severe.
The stormy weather already delayed our flight into Miami but not for too long. We’ve had dinner and now I need a shower and a sleep.
I’ll have a lot more to say in the coming days if I can get internet access.

Welcome to the States! Who’d have thought you’d hop over here on your way to Haiti? Not me. Have a great time!
Wow. Welcome to my neighborhood.
Thanks Indigo. I won’t be here for long. I’ve got a 2 hour tour of Miami this morning then we’re off to Haiti for a week. I fly back through Haiti and LA on the way home but won’t be staying anywhere. If I had more money I would have extended the trip and stayed in the US for a week or two.
Matt, this is probably about as close as we’ll get to saying hello in person. 🙂 Thanks for the welcome.
Honestly, if it was the middle of the summer and I had known in advance, I would have driven down to say hello. I have driven to Miami twice in my life, and I think I would have made the trip again to see an Australian Celebrity!
Hey Matt, I’m just catching up on replying to those who have made comments on my blog over the past couple of weeks.
I really would have loved to meet you. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to make it back to the US someday and then we can sit down for a few hours for a really good chat.
