Twelve

twelve.jpgIt’s a very big day at our place today.

As of today I’ve been a dad for twelve years.

Our beautiful Emily turns twelve today. It’s so hard to remember what life was like before she arrived. She has the remarkable ability of lighting up a room simply by walking into it. She’s growing up to be a rather wonderful young woman. She’s smart, funny and so incredibly talented.

The frightening thing is that she’s almost as beautiful as her mother. I think I might just have to lock her away from all the boys for the next 10 or 20 years.

Knowing that you’ve been a father for twelve years might make some people feel older but having someone as vibrant and amazing as Emily in my life makes me feel younger every day.
