Waiting

Are you good at waiting?

As mentioned before, we’re waiting for our house to sell. It’s difficult to wait because we can’t actually do anything to make the home sell faster. We can’t force anyone to make an offer. We’re not in control of the sale.

We’ve presented the home as well as we can and have taken the agent’s advice on pricing. The market is slow and so we just have to wait …. and wait.

Our life remains in limbo with our day to day activities now happening on the other side of the city. We’re keen to find a new home and to get on with life but our hands are tied.

I must admit that I’m feeling frustrated and discouraged. Aparently I’m not too good at waiting.

What are you like at waiting? Are you able to sit back and let life move on while you wait? Are you waiting for something at the moment?

  • Personally I hate waiting of any kind. I am kind of an impatient guy. Which is funny since I now live in Africa, and most of my life is taking up with waiting. Maybe God is trying to tell me something?

  • I am not good at waiting, either.
I am going to be transferred to a new workplace and move to a new apartment in less than a week. How I wish these hectic days were over!

I often think of the verse, “Be still and know that I am God.”

  • I’m not good at waiting, either, but I am good at distracting myself from dwelling on the things I have no control over.

Our house went on the market on May 14 and we finally closed on the sale on February 27. We had to give up a lot on the price to get that to happen, but we needed to sell it as we had moved out of the area.

Now we’re just waiting for a call from our daughter telling us to get our plane tickets. Her baby (our first grandchild) is due any time and we’ve got our bags packed and ready to go. I’m okay, but my husband was ready to leave yesterday. 😉
