Church Together

I’ve been to Church Together a few times over the years. I’ve got to be honest and say that the style of service and the vibe of it all are not my thing.

I’ll be there again this year. Why? Because it’s not about me or my preferences. It’s not about finding a style that entertains me. It’s about showing unity with the body of believers that is the church of Western Australia.

By saying that it’s not my preferred style doesn’t mean that I find anything wrong with the way it’s done – it’s just that it doesn’t fit my personal taste – but again – it’s not about me or my personal taste. I have great respect for the many people who have put many hours of effort into the service and I’m sure it’ll be a great success.

I’m sure that there’ll be aspects of the evening that I will enjoy. I’ll probably learn heaps from the guest speaker, Greg Laurie. I’ll enjoy hearing Marina Prior singing live. I’ll enjoy catching up with friends that I haven’t seen in ages.

Most of all I will enjoy being part of the thousands of people from diverse backgrounds and denominations standing together to proclaim that Jesus is Lord.

Church Together isn’t about me but it is all about Jesus so I’ll be there.

  • I agree Rod. I love the concept of coming together as the whole church and presenting a united front.
I’ll try and say g’day if I can get there (missional reasons may prevent me).
