We had a wonderful time last night. We got into the Christmas spirit and went to Carols in the Square at Weld Square Primary School in Morley.
The main organisers for the night were the folk at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. We sang carols, watched items from the school kids and waved candles about.
I had the privilege of being the MC for the evening so I got to introduce the various elements of the night.
One of the highlights was a group of children in their nativity costumes. There’s something wonderful about seeing a group of little people wearing robes and false beards.
I hope that you’ll take time out of your busy Christmas preparations this year to be part of a carols evening. I know that for me it’s one of those things that helps me remember what the so called silly season is really all about.

Do you have Christmas on the 27th? My calendar shows this. Not the 25th?
One of the best Fm stations here in San Jose California is 98.5 KFOX Greg Kihn in the morning.
We’ll be celebrating Christmas on the 25th, but here in Australia, we’re determined not to miss an opportunity for a day off. Whenever a day that is usually a public holiday falls on a weekend, we get the next available weekday off.
In this case we will have the 27th off for Christmas and the 28th off for Boxing Day, giving us a total of 4 days off.
Mind you, I’ll actually only get one day off. I don’t normally work Saturdays but we have a policy that all full time announcers at our station work on Christmas Day. I’ll do my normal 9 – midday shift, then get Sunday off before returning to work on Monday.
