Passing notes

Do you enjoy getting little notes from someone special?

I love getting notes from Pauline but I haven’t been quite so pleased about her note writing over the past few days. She’s hardly said a word to me since Friday. She hasn’t been talking to me. She hasn’t been talking to the kids. In fact, Pauline just hasn’t been talking.

About the middle of last week, Pauline started to come down with some kind of virus. By Friday morning she could hardly speak. I left work early on Friday afternoon to take her to the doctor who suggested that she stop even attempting to talk.

For the last few days she has not only felt lousy, she has been mostly silent. We have been communicating with a combination of hand signals and little notes. The wierd thing being that when Pauline hands me a note I almost feel as if I should give her my reply in writing but of course there’s nothing wrong with my voice or her hearing.

I love Pauline so very much and I’m looking forward to her recovery very soon. I can’t wait for her to feel well again.

Of course, I won’t mind too much if she leaves me an occasional note even when she gets her voice back.
