I didn’t even know that I had been nominated but I’ve just found that The Journey has made the finals in the Most Inspirational Blog category of the BoB Weblog Awards 2004. Apparently voting starts on Saturday and runs for two weeks.
I consider it an honour to be nominated. I did a quick search on the nominations page and found that it was Amelia at Whispering Loudly who nominated The Journey. Let me say thank you to you Amelia, your nomination has just blown me away. (If any blog should be winning awards it should be Whispering Loudly. Amelia’s short insights into her life are provide some of the most humorous endearing and well written moments you’ll find anywhere in the blogosphere.)
The list of the final 10 is as follows:
1. A Day Without Rain
5. Heroine Girl
6. Purple Goddess in Frog Pyjamas
7. The Journey
9. The Secret Garden
10. Whiskey River
I’ll now have to visit the other 9 finalists to say hello and see who I’m going to vote for.
By the way, I won’t be begging you for votes. If you’d like to vote for The Journey then I’d be extremely honoured, but I’d like to know that you’re voting for me because you truly believe that The Journey is the best of the finalists. If you intend voting, when voting is opened on Saturday, please check out the final 10 and then base your vote on merit. May the best blog win.

Hello Rodney,
Congratulations on being nominated
for the BoB Awards.
So glad that you were as this is
how I got to your page and what
a blog!
Marie
P.S. Good Luck
Well I may be biased!, but I read a little of all the other contenders for the BoB award, and while finding some of them very good and the stories behind them at times hard going, I still vote you as the best. I also think some of the other bloggers I read from your suggested list could well outplace some of the contenders. Well that’s my opinion for what it’s worth.
Margaret
