Children's Christmas Joy

After getting to bed very late last night I was woken this morning in the most delightful way possible – even if it was just after 5:00am.

I could hear Emily and James off in the family room chattering excitedly to each other. They were discovering gifts under the tree and in their stockings in their rooms.

We would get the kids to hang stockings over the fireplace, but at our house that’s a small gas heater so it wouldn’t quite work.

They’re allowed to open what’s in their stockings before we get up but then they have to wait until 6:00am to come in and wake us up before opening any other parcels.

They were very patient. Seeing the joy on their faces as they unwrapped gifts was absolutely priceless.
