Foot soreness

For some strange reason the top of my right foot is a little sore today. It’s nothing major but I know it’s there. It could have something to do with repeatedly slamming by foot against a very thick piece of leather yesterday afternoon.

We had a family picnic in a local park yesterday lunchtime and once the eating was done I got the footy out. I have a habit of kicking bare footed, hence the slight soreness. I kicked the football in one direction and Emily, James and my nephew Benjamin took turns in kicking it back to me.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a good kick but I seemed to do alright. The kids were very good with their kicking too. They were especially good at the long run up before their kick.

I’ve come to terms with the fact that the West Coast Eagles aren’t likely to call me into the side but I still love a bit of kick to kick with the kids.

  • That’ll teach you for repeatedly booting that leather thing… I never did understand the facination.

Hope you and the family had a great Easter!
