Trapped

Every now and then I wander to the local shops at lunchtime to grab lunch. Today should be one of those days.

The weather forecast was for showers this evening but the wet stuff decided to come early. It’s bucketing down here at the moment so I’m lunchless.

I’m caught between wanting the rain to continue and wanting it to stop.

My garden needs the rain to survive. I need lunch to survive.

I tried walking out of the building a few minutes ago and was about to step into the light rain that was falling, only to hear a very loud thunder clap and see the sky fall in. I’m not going out in that.

So for now, I’m trapped. Hungry and trapped.

What’s that I hear? The rain has eased off just a little. Do I dare try the dash?
