I had a very special afternoon yesterday. Pauline took James to a birthday party and so Emily and I had a little father / daughter time.
We walked home from church together, each with a Diet Coke in hand, and had a great chat along the way. At home we both grabbed a book and sat at either end of the couch in the family room reading for a while. It was just wonderful spending time with my little girl. (Although at almost 9 years of age, I guess she’s not so little anymore.)
I had to head out for half an hour later in the day and took Emily with me. We didn’t do anything all that interesting but just spending time with each other made it so very special.
