James rang me yesterday afternoon. He said, “Hello dad. I’m at Rottnest, as you know.” Which is an interesting way for a 6 year old to speak.
He wanted to tell me that he had been involved in some filming while on holiday. Apparently there’s a film crew on Rottnest and they needed some extras to wander through the General Store for a few shots. Pauline took Emily and James to the shop and got caught up in the whole experience.
I think the film they’re shooting is called Wadjemup, which is the Aboriginal name for the island.
The film crew is on the island for a number of days so my incredibly photogenic family may get another chance at film stardom.
I wonder if they’ll still be shooting when I get there this weekend to join the family. Maybe I’ll get to be a movie star too.
