Busy morning

My on-air day started with a chat to Australia’s leading lady of musical theatre, Marina Prior.

Marina chatted about Red Nose Day and reducing the risk of infant deaths. She was recently involved in producing a 30 second commercial highlighting the best ways of reducing the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

I also spoke to Marina about Mercy Ministries. She’ll be in Perth on Thursday for the Mercy Ministries Gala Ball. As their website explains, Mercy Ministries exists to transform lives of girls struggling with life-controlling issues by providing free residential care and life skills training through Biblical counseling in a loving environment where mercy triumphs over judgement and dreams of a magnificent future are restored.

I’ll be chatting the U.S. founder of Mercy Minsitries, Nancy Alcorn, next week.

Next on the agenda was the weekly Tech Zone segement with David Cook. Today we explored the legality of downloading music as well as copyright issues in videoing television programmes and photocopying books etc.

In the last hour of my programme I focussed on Australia’s National Drug Action Week by talking to Suzy Thomas, Executive Director of Drug Arm WA. We explored the services that Drug Arm offers as well as the reasons that young people get hooked by drugs and how we can help prevent drug abuse in our own families.

Altogether it was a pretty busy day on-air. I love my job.
