How’s it going at your place at the moment. We’ve all managed to come down with some kind of mystery virus at our house which is showing itself in different ways for all of us.
I had a very nasty sore throat on Tuesday, felt completely worn out yesterday and today it seems to have gone to my chest. I woke sounding like Barry White. I didn’t think my voice could get that deep.
I’ve taken some heavy duty Vitamin C. The tablets are the size of Tasmania. I don’t know that it’ll do any good but I like to feel as if I’m doing something.
I put on a couple of extra layers before I got on my bike this morning to stay toasty warm while I was cycling. It was cold but dry on the way to work but even now as I look out of the studio window I can see the rain on it’s way. This is one day that I’m not looking forward to a wet ride home.

My boss has been fluey for a couple of weeks, so now I’m all fluey. Not happy…had to pull out of CM for the week – bit hard to sing when you can’t breathe 🙁
:o( … sheesh … must be a “winter” flu … you all get better soon!
Took me a minute to figure out why you had to put so many layers on to keep warm with your flu. DUH You’re having winter while we are roasting in the heat! Feel better soon!
ahem, what are you doing going to work with the flu?
you should be at home resting
and not spreading the virus further afield
get better soon!
It might seem a little strange, but over this side of the country, things like that are more common in summer than winter. I haven’t had a winter ‘flu since 2001, and the last before that was 1998.
In anycase, I hope you’re feeling better soon.
I am off work looking after my sone with the mumps…my 15 month has the flu…and up till yesrterday my wife has had gastro..
All on the road to recovery now.
Take care and I trust you will be fighting fit by next week.
I have to say I heard Techzone on your segment two weeks ago -and it was really good.
You seemed a little down on Monday, were you feeling sick then?
Paula and Kel, I’ve got to say that I’m not keen when other staff memebers turn up to work and belch their germs over me. I’m trying to do my job and then avoid people so that I don’t pass anything on.
Saija, I’m not sure it’s a ‘winter flu’ but it is a winter something and it’s not so good. Thanks for your concern.
Gail, you’re just bragging aren’t you? 🙂 It’d be nice to have a bit of heat at the moment so that I could kick this thing quicker.
Chris, if I’m to pick up a virus it is usually during good riding weather so this one’s a bit different.
Lionfish, thanks for your comments on Tech Zone. We have a lot of fun with it. I hope your family is soon back on track. I’m sure you’re like me in that you’d prefer to be sick yoursel than see your loved ones suffering. I hope you don’t catch anything.
Amanda, I may have had the early stages of this thing on Monday, though I should say that I am quite a shy person when meeting people face to face. That can either come across as being a snob or as being down. I know that might not fit with the persona of a radio announcer but that’s me. 🙂 Be assured that I had a wonderful time interviewing you and showing you and Michael around the station.
Thanks everyone for your kind wishes. I feel as if this ‘thing’ is moving through my body fairly quickly and I’m looking forward to being over it.
Please pray for Pauline. She’s suffering a lot worse with lots of extra symptoms from the virus.
Thanks Rodney, we enjoyed seeing behind the scenes.
