Life, the universe and everything

It’s July.

I can’t put it off much longer.

Later this month I will reach a new milestone.

My age will become the same as the answer to life, the universe, everything.

If you are familiar with Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxy you should understand.

  • Ah yes, the answer to the age old question “what do you get when you multiply a 6 by a 9”. Yes I may have read the book(s), and yes you are quite right it is the wrong answer! They were quite strange, but funny, books!

  • My birthday is on the 16th, and it’s 5 less than the answer you’re referring to so yay lucky me.

I’m live in Perth and it’s nice to see another Perthite in the blogosphere.

  • At least you’re in a profession where you don’t have to worry about age discrimination. Here in the States, we have a plethora of fossils on every conceivable frequency.
    Peace,

  • Hey Rodney

Don’t you just love the improbability drive?
Who would have thought! Though we first met and worked together at World Vision I never would have guessed, for I to have reached the milestone of “The Answer” earlier this year. It was in March and my twenty year old son and nineteen year old daughter took me out as soon as Hitchhikers movie was released as a belated “The Answer” birthday treat.
I am a big Hitchhikers fan and have read all five books in the trilogy J.
I hope that your birthday celebrations are special and that at 42 you will continue to see the rest of your life as the great adventure that it is.
To quote another galactic traveller ? Live long and prosper?

  • Always good to hear from you Kevin. I’ve enjoyed your comments from time to time as you’ve popped in.

So tell me … what’s it like hitting 42? (Much the same as every other birthday I would imagine.) 🙂

  • Oohh…you’re old 🙂

I’m getting that way too…I’ll be 24 in just over a month.

You know the scary thing I realised the other day? Your birthday is actually a celebration of the COMPLETION of your year…ie your 42nd birthday marks the END of your 42nd year, and the beginning of your 43rd.

So in reality Rodney, you’ve been 42 for nearly a year already, and you didn’t even realise!

    😀
