Anyone for Squash?

I walked out my back door today to release my road bike from the chains which restrain it overnight. As is my habit I felt the back tyre. Solid as a rock. I felt the front tyre. Solid as a jellyfish. Darn.

I went to change the tube but my front rim holds onto tyres very tightly. One of my tyre levers snapped. Darn.

I went to the shed, grabbed my mountain bike and headed off to work.

Strange thing is, even though I cycle to work and home every day without any problem, I’m finding that the muscles in my upper legs are a bit sore today. Obviously my mountain bike uses muscles differently than my road bike. I’m not sure that I’ll get the chance to fix my tyre tonight so I may be mountain biking again tomorrow.

Having the soreness in my legs reminds me that I should try to work some different muscles at times. So, if you’re in the Perth area and you want to thrash someone at squash, just let me know. I haven’t played in years but I know that I should get back onto the court sometime soon. The Morley courts are my closest but I’m sure we can find somewhere suitable if that doesn’t suit.
