Bachelors

We’re managing just fine – so far. James and I are being bachelors for a few days while Pauline helps out at Emily’s school camp. They’ll be back tomorrow.

We managed to follow all the right routines last night and this morning and I dropped James off on time at a friend’s house ready to head to school. He’s had a good breakfast, he’s in the right uniform, he’s got his lunch, I signed his reading diary, everything’s under control. We’ve done alright following the routine but it’s still not the same without the ladies of the house.

  • Hey, he’s in the right school uniform? You’re doing great. Streets ahead of my Bill. But I have to ask; Did he actually read to you before you signed the reading diary, is he wearing the *right* socks, and did you brush his hair? Yes. Hair-brushing matters.

  • Wow, I am very impressed! I shudder to think what my daughter would be wearing (and eating) if I left her and her dad alone for a few days.

  • Did he read to me? Yes. Two books. One was about a little girl getting a puppy as a birthday surprise. The other was about a girl who let her cat step on her computer keyboard and type random letters.

Is he wearing the right socks? Yes. He wanted to wear the ones from yesterday but I suggested a clean pair would be better.

Did I brush his hair? Well …. I did listen to his reading and put him in clean school socks. I promise to brush his hair tomorrow.

  • I think it’s great that your getting a taste of what Pauline does on a daily basis…sounds like a good time for you and your son to bond 🙂

  • You have done very well Rodney. I know I would be lost without my wifey. Whenever we go out she organises . . . . well everything! I have enough of a struggle just to get myself ready, she has the kids dressed and ready, the bag packed with food, drink, change of clothes, etc as well as getting herself ready, AND they are often in the car waiting for me!!
