Here is the news …

It seems that bloggers are getting noticed. This report from BBC News says, Bloggers are gaining a higher profile alongside traditional news sources with Yahoo including blogs in its expanding news search system.

Jeff Redfern, product director for Yahoo Search, has chimed in and said, Traditional media doesn’t have the time and resources to cover all the stories.

It’s great to be able to hear more voices covering a wider range of news issues but with the greater exposure comes a greater responsibility. If blogs are being considered as a relevant alternative to mainstream news, I’m sure that those people and companies being written about in blogs will be casting a critical eye of what’s being said. I’m sure that some bloggers who feel that they have free reign to say what they like about who they like will find themselves receiving a nasty legal shock.
