The date

I’ve got a date this weekend … and it’s not with my wife.

Pauline won a couple of tickets to see The Goodies live this Saturday night. Obviously winning just two tickets to a show presents a few problems when there are four of us in the family. While I’m not a Goodies fan, Pauline, Emily and James all enjoy watching old episodes.

I thought it might be a bit of a struggle to decide who would use the tickets but Emily said that she didn’t want to go because she’d rather spend some time just with me. That means that Pauline will take James and Emily and I will have a dad and daughter date.

I haven’t had a chance to find out if she wants to stay home and do something together or if she wants to go out to a movie or do something else. Whatever we end up doing, I’m looking forward to some time together with my gorgeous girl.

  • You are not a Goodies fan ???????!!!!

I know you will have a great date with your daughter and I pray that it will be one of many. Even when my two daughters were at high school they still enjoyed our dates, which usually involved going into the city for breakfast and just hanging out. I only ever took one daughter out at a time and it was always a special time with them getting to be my princess for the day. I rarely see my youngest daughter now but those times together will always be the best of memories. Enjoy

  • I was going to see the Goodies (after I missed out last time they were here), but after realising that Bill Oddie wasn’t going to actually be on stage, I decided to give it a miss and stick with my DVD…
