One of the guys that cycled to Hobart with me a few years back got married on Saturday. He’s also an Associate Pastor at our church.
A very hot day and a lack of air conditioning in the chapel made it a bit sticky but it was still a marvellous service. Everything seemed to come together just perfectly. The bride was beautiful, the groom seemed more than pleased and scrubbed up pretty well too.
I must say that one of the most impressive things for me was watching the groom’s two sisters and his brother who were in the wedding party. They were all smiling so hard I thought their faces would crack. They were so obviously thrilled for their brother.
One of the things we’ve tried to instil in Emily and James has been a love for each other and the ability to celebrate each other’s achievements and milestones. We want them to be happy for the good things that happen for each other, not just for themselves. On Saturday we saw the perfect example of just how beautiful it can be when those kinds of values are put into practice.

I know what you mean about sibling love…it’s a beautiful thing. One of my best memories is of my brother punching his best freind in the nose for being mean to me. We were only about 7 or 8 yrs. old and I don’t condone violence – but it had “I love you” written all over it. 🙂
Looks like a lovely couple!
this is wierd, i have some friends who went to two different weddings last saturday.
must have been a popular day to get married.
It was a beautiful wedding! Both the bride and groom looked fantastic. I was actually wondering if I could get some photos from you cause I was too far away from the isle to be able to take photos of the wedding party!
