The big game

How was your weekend? It was a pretty good couple of days for us.

We spent Saturday afternoon at Whiteman Park with some good friends.

We took a couple of footballs along to keep ourselves amused. We marked, we handballed, we kicked, we went home a little sore.

To tell the truth I’m a little surprised that my right leg isn’t a little more tender than it is. I suppose my legs get a bit of a work out each day as I cycle to and from work but of course repeatedly slamming a piece of inflated leather against your foot requires a very different motion.

I’ve got a little soreness in my right ankle but apart from that I’m fine. We had a fairly good kick around so I wonder if something might surface in a few days.

I don’t think I’ll be called up to play for the Eagles anytime soon but I’m happy with the way I played. I think from now on I’ll just keep taking it one game at a time.

  • are you referring to what we, in america, call rugby? as i gain more and more international friends i am trying to learn all the wonderful sports we don’t have here. i was just a boring old high school baseball player. hahahahah!

  • Nothing like a good old fashioned game of kick to kick in the park is their Rodney, i enjoy doing it too

speaking of football good to see both of the WA footy teams win on the weekend and my beloved Kangaroos made it 3 wins in a row, i had to give them a plug somewhere!

  • Hello Drew. No it’s not rugby. To me rugby just looks like a game of keep-it-off for big boys. I went to a rugby game once and couldn’t work out why everyone else was getting excited.

Australian Rules Football is quite different. It’s the game we’ll really play in heaven. 🙂
