I mentioned back in May that by putting our Fly Buys points together with our Frequent Flyer points, our family will be able to head across the country for a couple of weeks in October.
We’ll be visiting Melbourne for the first week of October then Sydney for the second. The plan is to try to catch up with a few fellow bloggers while we’re in each city.
As far as Melbourne is concerned, it looks like we’ll be at Southgate’s Riverside Food Court on Thursday afternoon the 5th of October. Can you join us for afternoon tea or even a bite to eat after work? I’m thinking that we’ll turn up around 3:00 p.m. and stay for a while if anyone can make it later. If you’re interested just leave me a comment in this post and make sure you leave your email address. Your email address won’t show up with your comment but I’ll be able to access it and I’ll email you my mobile number to make sure we don’t miss each other.
For Sydney, the plan so far is to do something similar on Thursday afternoon the 12th at Darling Harbour. I know it’s a big place but I’m sure we can organise a proper meeting place there if anyone’s available to catch up. Same deal, if you’re interested just leave me a comment in this post and make sure you leave your email address. Your email address won’t show up with your comment but I’ll be able to access it and I’ll email you my mobile number to make sure we don’t miss each other.
If you’re even an occasional reader of this blog I’d really like to meet you.

unfortunately that’s my first week back to regular hours after school holidays (i work mornings the next 2 thursdays). i work until 6pm so i wouldn’t get to southbank until almost 6:30. don’t know if you’ll be gone by that time.
I love Melbourne. I know you and the family will have a fantastic time there. Southgate has a fantastic Magic Shop that I bought some tricks to use in kids object lessons in church. Have an awesome time. And check out the very friendly birds at the foodcourt ๐
QANTAS… *shudder*
I too love the picture Rodney, reminds me of our trip to NZ back in April. We are planning to visit my mum in NZ over Christmas, so am looking forward to that too.
What is it people have against QANTAS? Everytime I used QANTAS, I was very content with the service. I hope that hasnยดt changed in the last six years.
The last planes I was on were from Thomas-Cook. The service is minimum and the space, too. QANTAS always was much bigger.
Plus, it is even mentioned in the movie “Rain Man” ๐
I hope you have a pleasant flight and great holidays!
Hey Shawna, we’ll probably have dinner there so I’m guessing we’ll still be around. I’ll email you my mobile anyway.
Cha, we’ll certainly have to look out for the magic shop. James loves magic tricks.
I’d be interested to know why Qantas makes you shudder, David. I’ve always enjoyed travelling with the flying kangaroo.
I’ve never been to NZ, Scott. Maybe one day I’ll pack up my bike and go cycling there. ๐
Iris, are you flying Qantas when you come to Perth? You must be getting excited that it’s getting closer.
Rodney, yes, we have our QANTAS-Tickets with us already. Time is running and there is still so much to plan ahead. I look foreward to come to Perth – I guess it will be just great!
Hey Rodney.
I’d love to catch up, but I’m not sure about the 12th – We’ll be in the middle of our youth conference (refer http://www.intensifire.com.au ). Maybe we can arrange something?
Paula
QANTAS is fine for domestic flights, but whenever I have travelled with them internationally, I always find their service isn’t quite up to the high standards of other carriers.
Trust me, this saddens me a lot because I too want to be proud of QANTAS being the Aussie icon it is.
Hey Rodney, would love to be able to meet up although I don’t think I’ll be able to make Oct 12 arvo. Let me know when it’s all confirmed though and who knows?
