An interesting discussion is developing on a cycling forum that I frequent. Someone asked the question, “What’s the worst thing a sibling has done to you?”
I contributed a couple of stories.
One of my older brothers and I were sitting in our parents’ car. My brother wanted to know whether car cigarette lighters actually burn. They do.
My dear brother pushed the lighter in, waited for it to heat up and pop out, then held it firmly on the back of my hand. Ouch!
He must have had it in for the back of my hand becuase another time he decided that he would stop me from simply saying hello.
We shared a bedroom. He had the top bunk, I had the bottom one. I climbed up to see what he was doing one day and to say hello. Unfortunately he had a pen in his hand which, before long, was quite literally in my hand. He plunged the point of the pen into the back of my hand. Blood spurted out a number of centimetres above the hand. His immediate reaction? “Look, a waterfall.” (To be truthfull it was more of a fountain than a waterfall.)
What about you? What’s the worst thing a sibling has done to you?

How awful! The worst thing my brother did to me was “stealing” my boots though they were way too large for him and thus damaging them. The nicest thing he always does is really caring for me, like having the best Pizza in the world with me or getting my winter-tyres out of our Mom´s cellar for me (like he will do next weekend). I hope you´re getting alomg better with your brother now!
🙂 We get along fine these days. We were ‘much’ younger back then.
The worst thing my sister who is 6 years older than me has done was to harshly criticise my singing voice. That had such an effect on me. It took a while before I had the confidence to sing again.
Oh my goodness!!! Truth be told, I was the savage one. I was really nasty to my sister. I’m surprised she speaks to me. I will have to let her know about this.
My brother has pushed me down our staircase head first a few times. I remember rolling head over feet a few times until I got to the bottom. It didn’t hurt too much but I didn’t enjoy when it happened. I am actually suprised I didn’t get a headache afterwards
My brother smacked me in the mouth with a pool cue once! We both had a hold of it, it was near my face, but I didn’t think he would actually swing it at me. He did! And I got a fat lip. We both laughed so hard we cried. Is that weird?
One word:
OUCH!!!!!!
Wayne, you’ve just reminded me. The same brother once broke a pool cue across my back.
Rodney: Thanks for your comment re Jimmy Durante. You’re as crazy as I am, I guess. I posted the following comment underneath yours on my blog. Also, I realized that when I lost all my links a couple of weeks ago, I didn’t add yours back on to my site. It’s there now! God bless you richly!

Rodney:
Yes, it must be! Although American Mafia crime magnate Jimmy Hoffa has been missing for years. I’m sure some of my 10 readers will think I’m serious and that I actually found this guy in the basement. Glad you could see my crazy sense of humour.
God’s best to you down under. He is good!
