It was all yellow

I don’t usually care what other guys are wearing but I’ve been very keen to see a certain Australian athlete change his wardrobe recently.

I’m hoping that Cadel Evans changes out of his normal team uniform and into something a little more yellow.

I know that some people don’t suit certain colours and that there are a lot of people who don’t look great in yellow but I think Cadel would look much better in yellow, specifically the yellow jersey which is reserved for the leader of the grueling Tour de France.

I joined the guys that I cycle with on Saturdays a couple of nights ago to do our bit towards putting Cadel into yellow. We got together to watch the time trial on TV. It was a great night watching him ride so very well. We cheered him on around every corner and through every kilometre. I’m sure it helped him put in the great performance which lifted him up to second overall.

Since the time trial there have been a couple of very tough mountain stages which have put Cadel back into third place overall but with a rest day today and another time trial on Saturday there is still great hope for a podium finish or even an overall win.

Evans finished in 8th position in 2005, his first tour, then 5th last year. I’m still hoping for yellow this year but if not, maybe 2008 will be his year.
