I had a slightly less frightening start to the day this morning.
Quite some years ago Pauline bought me a very nice bedside clock radio. It’s served me well ever since.
It has a button that I can press to change the clock to daylight saving time without all the hassle of changing the time manually. I press the button at the start of daylight saving each year then press it again once it’s all over. So simple.
In all the years I’ve had the clock I’ve never accidently hit that button … but that all came undone yesterday when I must have pushed it while fumbling to turn off the alarm.
By the time I finally opened my eyes and squinted towards the display I noticed that I was running an hour late.
I jumped out of bed wondering why it still looked so dark. I then looked at another clock and realised my mistake.
It was good to know that I was still on time but it took a while to get over that startled feeling and being woken up with such a shock.

Have seen riders with bikes strapped on them here in Kenya. Also thinking it is overkill when related to being prepared. Ha.
I know that feeling. That is why i do not use an alarm clock.
It’s not a fun way to start the day, is it Rodney. I woke up one morning and wondered why my alarm hadn’t gone off at 5am as it was supposed to; then I realized it was Saturday 🙂
Scott, I hate waking up feeling panicked about getting to work on time and then realising that it’s not a work day.
