Roberta Taylor in Australia

IvyBrown.jpgWe packed the family in the car and headed to Joondalup last night. Roberta Taylor was at Edith Cowan University as a guest of the Big Book Club. She’s just released her second book, The Reinvention of Ivy Brown.

You may know her better as the actor who plays Inspector Gina Gold in The Bill.

She gave us a little bit of background to the new book and read a couple of passages from it as well as a few insights to her first book Too Many Mothers. Then it was question time.

The audience had plenty of questions that covered her writing and acting experiences.

She was a very entertaining speaker and it was lovely to be able to meet her afterwards as she signed books and chatted. Even though the line to meet her was quite long she made sure that everyone had their moment with her and that no one felt rushed.

It’s just a shame that she had such a punishing schedule while she toured Australia. I don’t think she would have had a lot of opportunities to see much of our country. Maybe she’ll come back soon with a bit more of a chance to appreciate Australia.
