Crying Posh slaps Becks

You’ve no doubt heard the ongoing saga of ‘did he’ or ‘did he not’ with David Beckham and his wife Victoria.

I logged on to a news website during my lunchbreak today to see one of the headlines saying, “Crying Posh slaps Becks.”

I resisted the urge to click on the link and go find out the latest in the story. Why? because it’s none of my business. It’s none of your business either which is why I’m not saying where the story is.

We’ll obviously be force fed the details on radio or TV later but I refuse to go searching after details that should remain the personal business of those involved.

Sure they’ve both sought publicity in the past to enhance their careers, but that doesn’t give us license to intrude.

I have friends who have had troubled marriages and some have even broken up. I have been naturally curious to find out what’s going on but I haven’t pried because that is not my place. Some have spoken to me about their troubles and some haven’t. I’ve helped when I could. I know that with a couple of loaded questions to the right people I could have had all the juicy details but that wouldn’t make it right.

While Posh and Becks are celebrities, they are also people. People like you and me who hurt when their world starts to crumble around them. We have no right to gain some kind of perverted pleasure by delving into their private lives.
