Making Mistakes at Work

Do you ever make mistakes at work? Just little mistakes? I guess we all do from time to time.

Tomorrow I’m heading back into the land of letting everyone know when you blow it. I’m back on-air at Sonshine Fm for three weeks. I’m filling in on the morning show from 9am to midday while the regular presenter takes a well earned holiday.

Why have I focussed on mistakes? It’s not that I expect to make lots, it’s just that it has always amused me that most of the time we make small mistakes and then fix them and move on. Make a couple of small mistakes on-air and you’re sure to hear about it when you next see a friend.

I’ve had people tell me that I gave the wrong time or that I mispronounced a word. So? It’s not that I’m not open to correction, I just find it curious that friends feel the need to point such things out rather than say, “I really enjoyed what you said about …..”

Oh well, I guess it’s not as bad as making a few mistakes on the job when you’re a doctor.

  • Best wishes to you!

I’ll be listening Monday, then perhaps again on Tuesday, and maybe Wednesday…. Depends how well you do! 😉

    (Just kidding, … mostly!)

  • Hiya Rodney,

definitely one of those `interesting human behaviour’ things. People think that they are being genuinely helpful … also people are generally poor conversation starters – well thats how I look at these sorts of comments anyway.
