Thunderbirds are GO

We went to see a preview screening of the Thunderbirds on Monday night. I don’t think it’ll set the world alight but it’s a great fun movie for the family to enjoy.

Our 5 year old James has seen a few episodes of the original series when they’ve put them on telly at some unearthly hour of the morning. He just loves them and so he was really looking forward to seeing the movie. Emily’s 8 and she wasn’t so thrilled about it all. As far as she was concerned, the whole Thunderbirds idea is a boy thing. James went to great lengths to explain that it wasn’t going to be the show with the puppets like on TV but that it would be a live action movie.

Emily recently went to London with Pauline’s mum and they had brought a Thunderbirds costume back for James so he got suited up for the movie. He certainly got a lot of looks from everyone in the theatre complex.

The movie itself was a lot of fun. In the end Emily loved it. And as for James – when I asked him if he thought it was a good movie I thought his face would light up the entire suburb.
