Ribbit!

The rain certainly came down last night in Perth and is continuing today. I woke up in the very early hours of the morning to hear a very heavy shower. I wondered at that stage just how wet I would get cycling in tot work. Thankfully it was fairly dry when I was on the bike.

The rain brought some unexpected visitors at our place. When I wandered into our back yard I spotted a couple of frogs who had decided to make the most of our swimming pool. I fished them out so that they could continue on their way.

We all enjoyed watching the frogs hop away. I’d love to set up a frog pond to attract a few more into our garden. They’re such wonderful creatures.

I think Pauline got a photo of one of them. I’ll post it if it’s OK.

  • Rodney, I’ve always thought I was a bit strange for liking frogs. Glad to hear someone else does as well. Looking for the pics!
    Blessings.

  • Rain is wonderful like that, isn’t it? I remember camping at Mt Barney a few years ago, and having the rain come down for about 36 hours straight, it was wonderful to walk out into a deserted campground and see the various frogs and other wildlife that might normally be scared off by “fair weather” campers.

Of course, the next day I had to cycle up the Great Dividing Range carrying camping gear that didn’t cope with getting wet. Needless to say, I’ve factored this into some of my recent purchases.

  • We’ve got a outdoor spa at our house, and there’s a frog that’s taken up permanent residence. He likes to sit on the edge of the spa, but underneath the cover, where it’s nice and humid.

I keep worrying he’ll die from the chemicals in the water, but it doesn’t seem to faze him!
