I had never done anything like this before but I can’t say that I was nervous.
She appeared before me and asked me to accompany her to a small room. We needed privacy. I willingly followed her. There was no hesitation.
As soon as I entered the room she closed the door behind us. She was young. Many would say that she was too young for a man of my age. They’re probably right. I still couldn’t help but notice that she was a very attractive young lady.
She asked me to take a seat. I was happy to comply. We both knew why I was there. The writing was on the wall.
She dimmed the lights and asked me to look into her eyes. For the next 25 minutes I did everything she asked me to. How could I refuse?
As our time together drew to a close I felt the sting of bitter tears. She gave me a tissue to dry my eyes. It was done.
The end result? Apparently my eyes are rather healthy and while reading glasses could help me, it’s still my decision. My long distance vision is fine and my right eye is just a little weaker than my left which is in perfect shape.
I don’t have a vision problem. It’s more a slight problem with focussing quickly, which can be expected at my age.
The incredibly professional optician performed a number of very thorough tests including having me read eye charts on the wall and explained everything as we went along. The last test she did was for Glaucoma. That involved putting a drop in each eye. Those drops certainly sting.
It’s now my choice as to whether I purchase some reading glasses.
