Operation Christmas Child 2005

Until Boxing Day last year, Siti lived with her family in the Aceh Province of Indonesia.

When the tsunami swept through her village Siti was left clinging to a tree as the water swelled beneath her. The waves swept her home and her parents out to sea.

Samaritan’s Purse wasn’t able to bring back her parents, but they were able to give her new hope with the gift of a shoebox filled with simple toys and household items.

You can help children like Siti by getting your family, social, sporting, or church group involved in 98.5 Sonshine FM’s Operation Christmas Child.

With simple gifts such as toys and household items, one more child living in poverty will know that someone cares. It could be the only gift they’ve ever received.

Get packing directions online at Sonshine FM’s website, or call the hotline if you’re in Western Australia – 9487 5985. Then bring your shoebox to the Sonshine FM studios at 9 Boag Road in Morley before 5:00 p.m. Thursday the 27th of October.

If you’re not in Western Australia, Operation Christmas Child is sure to be running in your area. Just find your local Samaritan’s Purse and get packing.

  • Hey Rodney, I’m just winding up our Church campaign this week. People really got into it, especially after seeing the promotional video!

  • Wow! It’s that time of year again! I love Operation Christmas Child!!! So glad you posted about it.

  • Our congregation in the Cincinnati, Ohio-area has been participating in ‘Samaritan’s Purse’ for about five years and it’s one of the most gratifying things we do!

It also feels great knowing that we’re playing our small part in an international effort to share the love of Christ with the world!
